Most of the data shown in this report does not include the Team Final Relay, as the nature of this event makes it difficult to ascertain the number of clear rounds, time faults, eliminations etc and therefore would skew the Clear Round and Top Ten place data. Where data from the Team Final Relay has been included, this will be clearly highlighted.
Summary
A total of 33 Countries competed at the 2013 European Open Championships. There were 760 Handler & Dog combinations, completing 3,178 rounds of jumping / agility, resulting in 655 clear rounds.
Not surprisingly, Belgium had the most team members with 60 handler & dog combinations. Germany & Slovenia had 33 handler & dog combinations, followed by a further 9 countries with 32 handler & dog combinations. Great Britain, with 15 competing Handler & Dog combinations, had more team members than only 8 other countries (Slovakia, South Africa, Brazil, Columbia, Serbia, Argentina, Chile & Venezuela)
Clear Round Performance
There were 655 clear rounds over the Championship weekend, making the percentage of Clear Rounds compared to rounds completed 20.6%. The best performing country for achieving Clear Rounds was Argentina (46.7%), followed by GB (37.3%) & Finland (35.1%)
Top 10 Place Performance
The best performing country for achieving Top Ten Places compared to how many rounds that they competed in was GB (17.9%), followed by France (11.3%) & Finland (10.4%)
Podium Places
The best performing country for achieving Medals compared to how many rounds that they competed in was GB (7.5%), followed by Finland (3.7%) & Germany (3.5%)
Even if you add in the Team Final Relay Medals (of which Team GB did not gain any) the best performing country is still Team GB, followed by Germany and then Finland.
