2013 Report
Now that the shooting season has come to an end I thought I would let you and the team at CSJ know how our year has gone from the summer shows and Game Fairs to the Shooting Season.
The year started well with an invitation to demonstrate my dogs at the National police dog championship at Margam Park. I attended with my German Shepard and Belgian Malinios. It was a great honour to take part at such an event and this was followed by demonstrations at the St Clear’s agriculture show – the really wild food festival, Llanfair Pwll Fun Day at Anglesey and the Pembrokeshire Agriculture Show at Haverforwest, I was also asked to take part at the Welsh Game Fair and to be one of the main attractions at the show with gundog displays each day in the main ring. This was the first time I had done home game fair and I really enjoyed the two days.
As BASC gundog advisor for Wales, I have held training days through Wales during the year and taken part in most of BASC Wales events throughout Wales, now in 2014. BASC will be at the Royal Welsh Spring Fair and I have been asked to be one of the main ring attraction with the Ffynongain team. I can’t wait andI just hope it goes well.
Again in the shooting field our dogs have done very well at field trials with dogs that I have bred winning both in the UK and Europe. This makes FFynongain gundogs one of the most consistent gundog kennels in the UK. Field Trial Champion FFynongain Lincoln come second at the Belgium championship with Field Trail Champion FFynongain Razor doing very well at the Irish Championship. This follows on nicely from Field Trial Champion FFynongain gunner winning the Danish championship. We also had three field trial winners in the UK and four field trial award winners. Let’s hope 2014 carries on the same with a couple of nice young dogs now showing great potential – my fingers are crossed.
One thing that has stood out in the last year is the condition of the dogs – it has been excellent. As you know I use CSJ Hi Lost, That’ll Do! and CSJ Puppy food and I can honestly say they are all great, If you could only hear the compliments I get at the shows regarding the condition of my dogs and this is down to the food they get, without question.
Now for 2014 I will again be at all of the major events in Wales with the FFynongain Dogs and very proud to fly the flag for CSJ. Thank you Ceri and the team for all the help in 2013
