The North Wales Open Sheepdog Championships is one of the largest and most prestigious events in North Wales. This year, it will be held on 15th & 16th August at Bryn Derwen Farm,Abermule, by kind permission of Irene & Tom Hamer (mother & son).

The local secretary is Alan Humphreys ,3 Tanllyn ,Carno, Powys. SY17 5LH.. Local President is Gareth Vaughan, Dolfor, who is the Past President of Farmers Union of Wales .
There will be qualifying heats on Friday with Doubles at lunch time, plus a further qualifying heat on Saturday morning with a Young Handler class at lunch time, followed by a Double Gather Final.
Judges for the singles and double gather are Brian Pugh , Nantmel, Llandrindod Wells, and Dai Price, Cemmaes, Machynleth. The Young Handler and Doubles will be judged by Henry Hughes, Llwydiarth.
