ARFON WORKING GUNDOG CLUB

The ARFON WORKING GUNDOG CLUB recently held two trials at the Glasfryn Estate, Nr Pwllheli, Gwynedd by kind permission of Mr Gwilym Jones.
On the 21st October 2014 an Open Stake for 16 English Springer Spaniels was held with Mr Mark Clifford and Mr Steve Woods judging. The weather was dry but with the tail of the hurricane passing over the UK it made it difficult for the guns but there was a plentiful supply of game.
The judges conferred at the end and called two dogs for a run off Ian Openshaw with Hollydrive Theo and David Horseman with Marchwood Nova . It resulted with Theo being announced the winner and making it up to FTCH.
RESULTS
First – Ian Openshaw with Hollydrive Theo ESSD
Second – Davis Horseman with Marchwood Nova ESSB
Third – Nick Powell with Colcourt Sparky of Bounderymoor ESSD
Fourth – Steve Bolton with Berrerbush Anna ESSB
COMs – Adrian Slater with Kipperidge Tim ESSD, Lee Cooper with Brechmarch Addie ESSB (Guns Choice), Richard Jones with Edwardiana Basantee ESSD.

On the 28th October 2014 a Novice Stake to 16 Novice AV Retrievers was held with Mr Gordon Hodgson, Mr Phil Smithies, Mr Ian Griffiths and Mr John Yarwood judging. The trial was held on a driven basis with a good supply of game the weather in the morning was dry and cloudy but as forecast torrential rain arrived at 1 pm testing everyone’s waterproofs until the end of the trial.

First – Wayne Skett with Ennanygan Ultre Lab B
Second – Trevor Gibson with Mind Games Red Storm
