Show Dog Handler: Julie Marvin

Julie is a breeder and Exhibitor. All seven of the dogs Julie has here are owned by Hana Kanoo, who lives in Bahrain. All are homebred, the two oldest were born in Bahrain and the others were all born here with Julie – she has been looking after Hana’s dogs for around 15 years.

“At present we are in first place on the leader board in the Our Dogs top breeder competition for 2019, which is quite an achievement when we have only bred two litters in the past 11 years.”

A great start to 2019

All 4 dogs taken to Crufts were placed in their classes…

The veteran bitch Maida (Nibrass Silver Stelae), was the oldest Borzoi competing and won the Veteran Bitch class (at ten and a half years old).

The other bitch, Dotty (Nibrass Eleanore Reginae), won the Limit Bitch class.

The two dogs, Harley (Nibrass Roger Fitzempress) came 2nd in Limit Dog, and Billy (Nibrass Hiroyuki Sanada) came 5th in a very strong Open Dog class against many champions.

And the success continued in 2019…

Both made up on the same day!

At Darlington, it was the 3rd CC for each of them, so making them both up to Champions. That same weekend, Harley was awarded Best in Show and Dotty Best Bitch at the Northern Borzoi Association open show.

Therapy Dogs too!

Dotty is five years old and Harley is four years old and both are also registered therapy dogs with the charity Therapy Dogs Nationwide – Julie visits St Oswald’s Hospice every week with one of them.

Harley (Nibrass Roger Fitzempress) has won four CCs, four Best of Breed and one Reserve CC.

Dotty (Nibrass Eleanore Reginae) has won three CCs and one Best of Breed. Twice they have done the double, winning the dog CC and the bitch CC at both the Scottish Kennel Club show in May and Darlington in September.

What Julie uses…

The products we feed are as follows:
Our two senior bitches (11 years old) are fed on Lamb and Rice senior/light. Four of the dogs are fed Complete Tripe or Lamb and Rice in the morning (we alternate bags) and in the evenings they have CP21. One dog who is picky and not a good eater has CP24.”
“We started feeding CSJ in August 2017, and all of our dogs look good and perform well on it.”
